Participants caught off guard, vehicles found in no parking zones
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, MAY 25
Participants of the police-public meeting held in the district police headquarters here on Tuesday evening on desecration of places of worship were caught off guard when the traffic police either chained or locked their two-wheelers parked in no parking zones.
The large number of participants who came to attend the meeting convened by the Superintendent of Police, South Allan De Sa had parked their two-wheelers on the road outside the police headquarters, realising little that they were parking their vehicles in no parking area.
It was only after the traffic began cracking a whip that realisation dawned on the participants that they had parked their two-wheelers in no parking zones. While the traffic police maintained that the road opposite the police headquarters is a no parking zone, the participants contended that there’s absolutely no space for parking in the district police headquarters, with the space inside the complex being occupied by the vehicles of the Goa Police.
