A delegation of South Goa Journalists Association called on the Hospicio medical superintendent Dr Ruando D’Sa and complained to him about the rude behaviour of security personnel and nurses allegedly asking patients to undress the bandages.
The delegation also called on the Hospicio Administrator, Mr Redkar and impressed upon him the need to allow Journalists to carry out their duties without any hindrances from the security personnel.
They drew attention of the Hospicio authorities that the security personnel have been acting rude to media persons while they visit the government-owned hospital to carry out their duty.
The Hospicio medical superintendent said the security personnel are not supposed to act rude towards the Journalists or any other citizen. But, at the same time, he made it amply clear that the security personnel should be allowed to perform their duties as laid down by the government.
After the delegation drew his attention to the alleged incident wherein a nurse was reportedly found asking a patient and his relative to undress the bandage, the Hospicio medical superintendent expressed surprise over the incident and has assured to look into the episode. “This is the first time that such an incident has been brought to my notice. I will look into it”, he said, while denying that the nurses are overstressed, even though Hospicio is suffering from a shortage of nurses.
