MARGAO: Veteran Ashwin Chandiok did a double at the ongoing BPS all-Goa tennis tournament winning the singles and doubles finals in the 45+ category here on Monday.
Chandiok defeated Dmitry Smirnov 6-4, 6-4 in the singles final. He paired with Bulu in the doubles final and defeated Jude Cardozo and Brian Fernandes 6-0, 6-0.
In 55+ veterans finals, Manoj Pandey defeated Sameer Kakodkar to win the title 6-4, 6-0.
In the 55+ men’s doubles final, Sameer Kakodkar and Sandeep Verlekar defeated Manoj Pandey and Michael Viegas 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.
Dmitry Smirnov beat Sanjay Varak 6-1, Arnam Ghosh beat Suraj Patlekar 6-2.
In boys U-14, Vivaan Agarwal and Avanish Pillankar scored easy wins over Adianta Devaraya 6-0 and Kaivalya Devaraya 6-0 respectively, Darsh Pai and Taroun Salgaonkar beat Arion Rodrigues and Ashton Mario Lobo respectively.
Pankaj Naik overcame Rajesh Bundela 6-0, Anurag Agrawal defeated Sandesh Satardekar 6-1, Nehal Shaikh beat Anup Sardesai 6-2 in men’s singles.
Sairaj Narvenkar, Ethan Luis de Ataide beat Alec Cris Barreto and Avanish Nitin Pillankar respectively 6-4.Shashwat Mathiyan defeated Devaansh P Naik 6-1.
In girls under-14, Tvisha Sardesai beat Ahana Kumar 6-1, Avni Lotlikar beat Bhaavya Bhoomkar in the tie-breaker.
