MARGAO: Former Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Pratima Coutinho on Monday said that former Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat had actively worked to defeat her both at the Municipal polls and elections to the Youth Congress post.
Reacting to the complaint made by Margao Congress workers to AICC secretary Dr Chella Kumar that she did not work for Kamat in Margao, Pratima demanded to know why the same Congress leaders had failed to complain to the High Command when Kamat did everything and used all means to defeat her in the municipal polls. That’s not all. She said the former Chief Minister had publicly declared his support to Valanka Alemao in violation of the Youth Congress election rules in force.
As far as the decision of husband Savio Coutinho in Margao under the banner of Trinamool Congress, Pratima reminded the Congress workers that both she and her husband have different political ideologies.
