Shortly after the Pontifical Mass concluded at about 12 noon, bishops and priests entered the Basilica, where a short ceremony was held. At about 12.17 pm, the Sacred Relics of St Francis Xavier enclosed in a crystal urn were picked up by priests and taken in procession out of the Basilica. They were then carried by members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC).
At the main gate of the precincts of Basilica, the Sacred Relics were handed over to the members of the Fabrica and Confraria. They were ceremoniously carried to the Se Cathedral along a path lined by thousands of devotees and closely monitored by security agencies.
Catechists, youth, novices and other members of the church organizations, the liturgy animators and finally members of the Religious Orders, both priests and nuns, carried the relics up to the main door of the Se Cathedral.
From there members of the Exposition Committee then shouldered the Sacred Relics and carried them inside the Cathedral. The doors of the Cathedral door were then closed and rituals were held till at about 1.15 pm, when the side door of the Se Cathedral was opened and the people were allowed in to kiss and venerate the Relics.
