Goa were mauled by Bhopal 7-1 in the 63rd Senior National Hockey Championship in Bhopal tonight.
Goa dominated the first 15 minutes, scoring a goal within the first minute, but it was disallowed.
Bhopal, coached by legendary Dhyan Chand’s son, Ashok Kumar, hugged Goa team coach Kapil Kholi after the match and praised the Goa boys for putting a befitting display. The lone goal for Goa was scored by Khyber Khan.
Goa will play Himachal Pradesh tomorrow.
