St Michael Boys in Orlim finals

St Michael Boys, Orlim defeated Real Benaulim 3-1 to storm into the finals of Gumboots football tournament organised by Gumboots of Orlim at church ground, Orlim. The teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
St Michael Boys went into the lead when Fulgancio bulged the net after he received a through pass from Desmond Fernandes inside the penalty area.
Stung by the setback, Real Benaulim created many chances and repeatedly raided the rival citadel at regular intervals. They were rewarded midway in the opening session when striker Elvis Fernandes put his team on level terms with a snap shot.
St Michael Boys were a dominant lot after the change of ends, with their forwards and midfielders working in tandem to put the rival goal under a barrage of attacks.
After a couple of misses, St Michael Boys went into the attacking mode and tormented the rival defenders with well orchestrated raids. Joel made it 2-1 in their favour when he slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a stiff grounder.
Maclino rounded off the tally when he punished the rival goalkeeper with an adroit placement late in the second half.
St Michael Boys will meet Mad Max,Taleigao in the finals on July 6.
