I wish to inform you about the non-collection of wet garbage in Bhatpal village Canacona , which poses a great problem to the residents as well as the general public.
The garbage from residential colonies specially from restaurants and hotels is generally collected by panchayat labourers from door to door. These bins are then abandoned at the corner of the streets to be collected by the panchayat vehicles but it is seen that the vehicles fail to pick up and dispose them. As a result the bins are emptied by the stray dogs or cattle and garbage strewn everywhere.
The pedestrians are forces to walk through disgusting wet waste. Sometimes the discarded rotting vegetables and eatables get struck on to the two wheelers. There is a constant foul smelling emanating from the garbage which poses a threat of diseases to people leaving in nearby areas.
Hence I wish to request you to immediately check the system of collection and disposal by the labour contractors and supervision of the daily-collection of such wet garbage so that the village remains clean and people find it easy to move on the streets.
