According to Curchorem police, Krishna Naik was under the influence of alcohol when he jumped in the well at about 12.55 am on Monday. Police summoned the services of fire brigade and rushed to the spot and saved Naik with the help of Curchorem fire services led by sub-officer, Ravindra Pednekar.
The Curchorem fire services handed over Naik to Curchorem police, where he was arrested under Section 151. Naik was later released after he was produced before the Deputy Collector and SDM, Quepem.
