VALPOI: Kamaxi Boys, Ponda and Live It Sports Club, Valpoi won the State level Throwball Championships for men and women respectively organised by the Amateur Throwball Association (ATAG), Goa at Forest Training school ground, Valpoi.
Altogether, 33 teams from all over the State participated in both the categories of the tournament.
In the men’s category, the runners-up were Live It Sports Club, Valpoi while Dattaray Sports Club, Mapusa secured third place.
In the women’s category, Sree-Ram High school, Khadki stood second while Government Higher Secondary School, Valpoi finished third.
Valpoi Municipal Council Chairperson Ramdas Shirodkar, Vice-Chairperson Shehzin Shaikh, Councillors Shaikh Faizal, Sharafat Khan and Vice-President of ATAG, Aktar Ali Shah, Executive Members Nasir Khan, Hanif Shaikh, Arshad Shaikh, Sayyad Sarfraz, Abdulla Khan and Feroz Khan were present during the prize distribution function.
