Salgaocar, Sesa FA bow

PANJIM: Salgaocar Football Club went down to Pune FC 2-3 while first-timers Sesa Football Academy were handed a 2-1 defeat by Tata Football Academy in the final round of Under-20 I-League match in Jamshedpur, Monday.

Striker L William opened the account for Pune in 26th minute. Albino Pereira restored parity just before the lemon break.
Pune succeeded in taking the lead on the other side of the break with L William scoring. The lead was extended further by Nikhil Kadam in the 60th minute to make it 3-1.
Salgaocar tried hard but couldn’t find the net until a 85th minute strike from Melwin Fernandes to reduce the margin.
In another match, Sesa went down to Tata Football Academy 2-1. Sesa surged ahead through in-form striker Mauvin Borges in the 66th minute through a classy right footer from top of the 30-yard box, which left the TFA defenders and the goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh hapless.
But they could not maintain the lead as referee P Moses awarded TFA a penalty as a Sesa player handled the ball inside the box in the 76th minute. Striker K Udanta Singh converted it. Later, Baidyanath Das extended the lead through a header in the 83rd minute
