Addressing the press on Saturday, AGMOA president Sandeep Parab alleged that 405 local machine owners had faced hardships in the last three years due to the mining ban, and now when they had hope of mining activities restarting, machines owners from neighbouring States, who had purchased flats in Goa, are trying to grab the mining business.
Parab said this would be a great injustice to the local machine owners and added, “This has irked our members as their machinery is idle for the last three years and may create a law and order situation here.”
He appealed to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar to fix a rate for machinery like the rate fixed for transportation of e-auctioned ore by trucks and barges. He also sought deployment of their machineries to Goan mines as mining is likely to commence soon.
AGMOA has called for a meeting on December 1 at the Lions Club hall, Ponda to discuss the issue.
