PANJIM: Former Congress State unit president Luizinho Faleiro has been nominated to represent the Indian National Congress (INC) at the 11th Frelimo Congress being held at Mozambique.
The Frelimo party of Mozambique is organising the Frelimo Congress at Maputo from September 26 to October 1. The President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, had extended the invitation to INC National President Sonia Gandhi. However, she nominated Faleiro for the same.
“This is to inform that Congress President Sonia Gandhi has chosen Faleiro to represent the INC at 11th Frelimo Congress. With Faleiro’s experience and background, and knowledge of Portuguese, the leader is well equipped to represent the party on this important occasion,” INC Foreign Affairs Department chairman Dr Karan Singh, said in his communication.
