Cong alleges corruption in procurement of COVID related medical equipment

Panjim: As Goa reported fresh cases of COVID-19, Congress on Friday slammed government for its failure and demanded immediate intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik to make the administration effective. 

In a press statement issued on Friday, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar said the thermal guns, rapid testing kits and the entire management of coronavirus pandemic by the BJP government has turned out to be defective and hence Goa has once again got converted into a COVID-19 prone zone.

“The responsibility of this new development is completely on Chief Minister,” he said. 

Goa reported a total of eight new COVID-19 cases in the last two days. All the patients had travelled from red zones into Goa. 

Chodankar said that the party is gathering documents to expose the mass corruption in procurement of thermal guns, rapid testing kits and other medical equipments purchased to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in Goa. 

“There is huge corruption in various mobile apps, which are launched by the government. We will soon reveal all the details to the people,” he added.
