PANJIM: The Government of India has approved Kunbi Handloom Crafts Village, which will be set up near Selaulim Dam in Sanguem Taluka.
The government will also provide grants Rs 10 crore for the project, which will be completed by March 31, 2023.
Informing this, Union Minister for Textiles Piyush Goyal said that the proposal was approved during the Project Approval and Monitoring Committee (PAMC) meeting chaired by Secretary (Textiles) on Friday.
The financial grants and other necessary support will be further provided by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi.
The project will be a big boon to artisans and weavers of Goa, Goyal tweeted.
