He said that from generation to generation this information needs to be passed on so that the feeling of nation first would always remain in the hearts of the people even after centuries later. He was addressing the gathering on the occasion of 67 Republic Day function at Bhute Bhat ground on Tuesday morning.
“Students are the pillars of the nation, as they play a major role in nation building. It is the prime responsibility of the guardians as well as the teachers to provide all information about freedom struggle to the students. I believe that they should periodically organise programmes for the students on patriotism,” Naik said.
Meanwhile, Republic Day function was also held at various other schools, colleges, other educational and private institutions of Mormugao Taluka. A function was also held at Mormugao Municipal council.
