The villagers were informed that local residents had objected to the same and that the panchayat body has approached the Health department in the matter as a number of residents have installed their sewerage pipes in the said drainage. Resolution was taken to repair the said drainage immediately. Earlier in the presence of local MLA Benjamin Silva and ZP member Anthony Rodrigues, inauguration of two cycle rickshaws for collection of dry garbage was held. The sarpanch informed that the two cycle rickshaws will be used to collect only dry garbage in the village.
Issue of illegal kiosk was also discussed at the meeting with gram sabha members demanding to know action initiated. They were informed that notice for removal of illegal kiosk in village has been issued by collector’s office and that the talathi has already submitted a report. The villagers also wanted a progress report in regard to repair of panchayat ghar which the MLA had promised.
Sarpanch said that the process is on and that they shall be informed about the progress at the December 19 gram sabha.
