MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have booked one Digambar Dhond from Nachinola for allegedly cheating a bank by producing fake gold as genuine and availing a loan of Rs 41.46 lakh.
According to the police, a senior manager and branch head of a prominent bank in Mapusa had lodged a complaint against Dhond for allegedly cheating the bank. Dhond failed to repay loan installments, the bank officials on checking the gold deposit verified it to be fake.

Acting on the complaint Mapusa Police has registered an offence under Section 420 of IPC.
