MARGAO: The Social Democratic Party of India on Thursday demanded re-investigation into the Margao bomb blast case by the Goa police instead of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the appointment of a retired judge to go into the depth of the case.
Addressing the media, SDPI President Ziaulla Rikarty said the Margao blast case should be immediately handed over back to the Goa police for re-investigation. He further demanded that all the absconding culprits should be nabbed immediately to throw more light into the case and demanded that the state government and the NIA should challenge the order of the Special Court, NIA before higher courts. “If the NIA has failed to gather proper evidence against all the accused, we demand that the case be investigated thoroughly and prosecute the culprits to give justice to the people of Goa without prejudice”, Rikarty said.
He said a lot of questions remain unanswered in the case, demanding to know the identity of the two deceased culprits, who were carrying bombs in their scooter and the persons who provided them material, logistic and financial support to carry out the blast. “What was the intention in carrying a skull cap, ittar (perfume) and khan market Delhi bag along with the bomb? Who are the real culprits involved in the blast case if the accused are innocent. They should be immediately arrested. If the perpetrator had succeeded in planting and exploding the bomb at Narkasur competition area than what would have been the consequences and who have been held responsible”, he said, adding that people of Goa are eagerly waiting for answers to all these questions.
