Liquor transport limited on polling and counting day

PANJIM: The government has issued a notification regarding restrictions on transport of liquor in the five municipal council areas and two by-elections in two village panchayats.

The State government has prescribed that maximum quantity of liquor i.e three quart bottles of Indian made foreign liquor other than beer and six bottles of beer for any person including his family and three quart bottles of country liquor for any person including his family, which can be transported from one place to another within the jurisdiction of Mapusa, Margao, Mormugao, Sanguem and Quepem municipal council and bye election to ward 2 of Karapur –Sarvan village pancahyat in Bicholim and ward 4 of Velim village panchayat in Salcete.

This is to be enforced until the midnight April 23, i.e. polling day and on the day of counting of votes i.e. on April 26, from 12 a.m. till the midnight of April 26, 2021 within the jurisdiction of local body where the counting will be taking place.
