PANJIM: Mopa Airport Affected People (MAAP) demanded special court to resolve the cases of 300 land losers of Mopa Airport.
In a memorandum submitted to the Director Civil Aviation Suresh Shanbhogue, MAAP has demanded market rate for acquired land as per new land acquisition law 2013.
“Our land was taken away by Government (SLAO) for above project in 2011-12 and as the original owners expired, the compensation is deposited in the district court, the cases which are referred are more than 300,” the letter memorandum reads.
It states the government has announced three-time compensation for land losers, which will the only after decision of court.
“As you are aware the present courts are overloaded with thousands of cases, the disposal of these cases will take number of years. Hence it is requested that a special court be appointed for disposal of cases on fast track so that land losers may get their compensation and three-time compensation as early as possible,” the memorandum adds.
