According to police, the deceased’s family filed a missing complaint, informing that Chavan was missing and that he had was last seen at around 11 pm on Tuesday. It was also reported that his slippers were seen somewhere in the under-construction building.
“During our investigation at the site, we found the deceased lying dead inside the lift chamber on the ground floor with some injuries on his head and body. It appears that he died due to drowning in a water trench, which was one-and half meters deep. The body was removed and sent for post mortem. We have registered the case as unnatural death, but the possibility of foul play cannot be ruled out. It will be confirmed after post mortem report is received,” said PSI Anant Shirodkar.
