The lunar eclipse is set to kick off on October 28 at approximately 18:01 GMT. By 19:35 GMT, the Earth’s umbral shadow, the darker core of the shadow, will fully engulf the lunar disk. So mark your calendars for both October 28 and 29, as this two-day window will host the stunning partial lunar eclipse.
The moon will first venture into the penumbra of the Earth on October 28, and as the early hours of the following day approach, it will make its way into the umbra, the central region of Earth’s shadow. Those residing in the Asian continent, including all parts of India, are in for a celestial treat as they will have the privilege of witnessing this lunar spectacle.
According to NASA’s reports, the eclipse is expected to last for approximately one hour and nineteen minutes. For those in India, the lunar eclipse will become visible at the stroke of midnight and will begin at 1:05 AM, drawing to a close at 2:24 AM.
