PANJIM: The Superintendent Engineer, Electricity Department, Circle II (North) on Wednesday has tentatively approved a power shutdown on May 28 from 7 am to 4 pm to carry out annual maintenance work at Tivim Substation.
As a result of this annual maintenance Bardez and Pernem talukas will be affected. During the shutdown, Bicholim substation will draw its full load from Amona substation. “It is kindly requested that Ponda substation feed Kadamba Sub Station on 110KV Tivim I and Tivim II, 33KV Bicholim Substation to extended to Tivim Sub Station for feeding Assorna Water Works and availing Tivim Substation load only,” says the Electricity Department notice.
The government on May 11 had postponed the proposed power shut down in entire North Goa areas which was scheduled for May 14 between 7 am to 2 pm.
