Panaji: Panaji Police have registered an offence after a 23-year-old taxi driver alleged that he was restrained inside a room and attacked with a koyta (sickle) over previous enmity.
According to the complaint, the victim was allegedly assaulted with the sharp weapon and sustained cut and bleeding injuries to both hands, his left shoulder and leg while attempting to protect himself.
The injured taxi driver was subsequently shifted to GMC Bambolim for medical treatment.
Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident, while another alleged accused is reportedly absconding. Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault.
