PANJIM/ MARGAO: A fine hat-trick from Ronaldo Oliviera helped Salgaocar FC Juniors overpower Sesa FA in the GFA First Division League match played at Sirsaim ground, on Tuesday.
The first led between the two sides in a goalless draw.
Salgaocar FC opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Sanson Pereira played a long ball deep into Sesa territory which was brilliantly controlled by the Greens’ striker Ronalo who coolly lobbed over the onrushing Sesa FA keeper to make it 1-0.
Salgaocar FC led 1-0 at the break.
Changing ends, Salgaocar dictated terms and soon doubled the lead when Ronaldo and Stephen showed good wall pass technique beating three Sesa defenders before the former placing the ball past the helpless Sesa keeper.
Ronaldo completed his hat-trick with a solo effort before firing home with a clinical strike scoring his third and giving Salgaocar Juniors full points.
At Navelim ground, Goa Police SC and United Club of Telaulim played a 2-2 draw.
UC of Telaulim took the lead in the 16th minute through Agnelo Colaco.
In the 18th minute, Goa Police’s Abdul Kader Khan’s free-kick sailed over the UC Telaulim cross bar. Goa Police Loyed Rebello’s header missed the Telaulim nets in the next minute.
Swanand Naik equalised for Goa Police off a rebound in the 40th minute.
Anil Shivolkar made it 2-1 for Telaulim in the first quarter of the second half.
Goa Police levelled terms through Abdul Kader Khan off Milind Shinde’s assist in the 87th minute.
