MARGAO: The protesting retired workers of the Margao Municipal Council ended their hunger strike after MMC chairperson Babita Angle informed them of having completed all procedures for releasing their Provident Fund money.
The Chairperson said the PF process of 5 out of 7 protesting workers is over and the reaming two will receive their PF soon. The workers had been protesting in front of the MMC building for several days. The MMC chairperson met the workers and had discussions with regards to the completed procedures. “We have cleared all issues in releasing the PF of 5 of the 7 workers and remaining two will be solved within a month,” Babita added.
