CURCHOREM: Centro Social Anjo Custodio Club in association with Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) will organize Carnival floats parade on February 12 at Curchorem.
The float parade will start at 4 pm from near the railway station and culminate at Kadamba Bus (KTC) stand after wending its way through Curchorem market. Sanvordem MLA and GSIDC Chairman Deepak Pauskar will be the chief guest and flag off King Momo rally and float parade in the presence of Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council Chairperson Felix Fernandes.
The floats will be held in five categories namely traditional, club/institutions, family, fun junk car and clown joker fancy. Soon after the parade, a musical show will be staged at KTC bus stand featuring Lenoy Gomendes and his troupe along with other Konkani stage artistes.
According to CSAC President Christy Bannet cash prizes of Rs 6.25 lakhs are allotted to floats in various categories.
and to mark the occasion various khell tiatr will be staged in different wards of Assolda and Xeldem and in municipal area.
