MAPUSA: An unbeaten YSC Colvale registered a solitary goal win over Bastora United Sport & Cultural Club in the GFA’s 3rd Division league match, at Duler Stadium, here on Saturday.
After Saturday’s win, YSC Colvale have 12 points while Bastora have three points having won one and lost two matches.
The Colvale players dominated the entire first session but failed to find the back of the net.
On crossing over in the 55th minute, a diagonal pass by Anford Fernandes was controlled and finished into the back of the nylons by Harsh Pawar to make it 1-0.
Trailing by a goal, the Bastora side came with number of changes in the line-up and went all out in search of the equaliser.
It was in the 57th minute when Bastora should have levelled terms through Yuvraj Palyenkar’s corner but Sneeden D’Souza and Daniel Pawaskar failed to connect their headers into the goal.
Another chance was wasted when a 40-yard strike from Vinton Fernandes was saved by the Colvale keeper Shelton Almeida.
Ten minutes before the whistle, Colvale almost increased their lead but substitute Saeesh Kudtarkar’s strike missed the target by inches.
