RAIA: Cortalim Villagers defeated Calangute Association 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 46th Custodio memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting football tournament played at Raia panchyat ground, on Saturday.
Cortalim Villagers had first chance of the match through Estevan Mendes but the striker shot over the cross bar in the 6th minute.
The first goal of this match was scored by Jenes Vaz of Cortalim with an arrow bond shot which sailed into Calangute net in the 22nd minute off Rivon Gama’s assist.
A defensive error by Calangute cost them yet another goal which was scored by Estevan Mendes for Cortalim just two minutes before the final whistle.
