PONDA: Sai Avtar Anjuna defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 6-3 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of 29th All-Goa St Annes Festival inter-village soccer organised by Ponda Footballers in association with SAG and Quadros played at Animal Husbandry ground, Curti-Ponda, on Saturday.
At end of regulation time the score was 2-2. Nuvem took the lead in 9th minute through Shubert Pinto.
The second session was played at a fast pace with Anjuna going all out to find the equaliser and were awarded with a spot kick which was converted by Rohan Kamble to level the score.
Soon, Anjuna took the lead when Povan to make it 2-1 but the joy was short lived as Nuvem equalized through Hayson.
In the penalty shootout Anjuna scored through Rohan Kambli, Nitesh Salgaocar, Venkatesh Mayekar and Dinesh Monaskar while PY Nuvem scored only one goal through Clyson Pereira.
Anjuna will take on the winners of Raia Sporting Club Raia and Ponda Footballers.
