Elderly duo gagged, robbed of gold, silver

In a daring dacoity, eight robbers decamped with gold and silver worth over Rs 2 lakh after gagging an elderly couple in their bungalow near Jairam Nagar at Alto-Dabolim on Friday night.
Neighbours informed that the elderly couple was traumatized by the incident, after the robbers gagged them and threatened to kill them if they raised an alarm.
Armed with sticks and knives, some robbers then forced the woman to hand over the keys of the cupboards and safe locks, while the other robbers confined the elderly man.
Before fleeing from the site, the robbers snatched two mobile phones from the couple and decamped with the gold valuables.
Police declined to provide further details into the dacoity, claiming that investigations were still in progress.
