PANJIM: The North Goa District police have initiated ‘Operation Jagruti’ exercise to curb street crime.
The police will intensify night patrolling in order to increase safety for women. Under the exercise, the North Goa District police have initiated a special four-wheeler patrolling drive. This exercise includes 38 Jagrut North District vehicles having 100 staff deployed from North District and various other units. There are 10 vital routes identified along with additional 40 internal routes in North in which these vehicles will be patrolling daily from 22:00 hours to 06:00 hours. Besides, attending to all the other calls received from the control room, the main intention of the said exercise is to assist/help any distressed woman and child during odd hours.
