MAPUSA: Mapusa Police will send a team to Malad-Mumbai as part of its investigations into the fraudulent sale of property at Socorro.
In a police complaint, Bruno Pereira told Mapusa police that some unidentified person from Mumbai had impersonated himself and had sold his property at Socorro. He had learnt about the sale only on June 11.
Pereira further stated that when he went to the Sub Registrar’s office in Mapusa to enquire, he was shocked to learn that his land admeasuring 1,400 sq mtrs had been sold to a woman from Malad-Mumbai for Rs 20 lakh on June 13, 2013.
Police said when Pereira checked with the office of Mamaladar, Bardez, he was told that mutation of his property had also been done. The accused person had made a PAN card in the name of Bruno Pereira and had sold the property at Socorro by forging the documents.
Police stated that as per the sale deed executed by the buyer of the property, their team will visit Malad and enquire with the woman about the sale of property.
In the meantime, Mapusa Police have registered the offence under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468 and 471 Indian Penal Code.
