Pratima Coutinho quits AAP

Resigns as State Vice President as well as from primary membership of party

MARGAO: A day after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced their new office bearers for its State unit, Adv Pratima Coutinho, submitted her resignation from her post as the State Vice President as well as from the primary membership of the party.

Coutinho informed media persons that she had sent a letter of resignation to Arvind Kejriwal, AAP National convenor and Amit Palekar, AAP Goa State convenor.

In her resignation letter, she stated that she thanked the party and her colleagues but said she needed time to devote to her personal work and aspirations and thus was leaving the party.

Coutinho also addressed her supporters and said whatever work she had promised to do, she would complete it. She also added that she has always been working on issues regarding the welfare of Goa and Goans at large.

She was however silent about any future political plans. Coutinho who was earlier with the Congress had contested from the Navelim seat for the 2022 Assembly elections as the AAP candidate.
