In the letter, Congress General Secretary Sunil Kawthankar said, “These repeated attacks on the villagers by trespassing in their tenanted property only further proves that the higher ups in the State administration, especially the political bosses, patronizing this illegal project have sold Goans too along with the permissions to these corporate money bags.”
In addition to the police force, he has also asked for a mobile police post or PCR to be deployed to protect the village from “the goondas of the proposed golf project as the villagers, the women and children are under the shadow of threat”.
On it being pointed out that it was the Congress government that initiated the project’s entry, Kawthankar insisted faulty procedures and permissions were granted post 2013, “by then the BJP government was in power,” he said.
