Panjim: In a shocking incident, two individuals, identified as Sundeep Kumar (26, Bangalore) and Vasant Madival (32, Bangalore), have been apprehended by the Calangute police following an alleged attempt to crush Head Constable Vidyanand Amonkar to death with their vehicle.
According to the police, their attention was drawn to the vehicle’s suspicious movements in Calangute, prompting them to initiate a stop. Upon halting the vehicle, one of the passengers attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly chased down and apprehended by Head Constable Vidyanand.

In a harrowing turn of events, the driver of the vehicle reversed the car, deliberately striking Head Constable Vidyanand and dragging him several meters before hastily departing from the scene. The injured officer was immediately transported to the Goa Medical College (GMC) due to multiple injuries sustained during the assault.
