CUNCOLIM: CRC Chinchinim scored a hard fought solitary goal win over Parish Youth Nuvem to enter in the quarter-finals of the Rising Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Rising Club of Sanvorcotta, at Cuncolim School ground, on Wednesday.
It was an action packed match as both the teams played brilliant football. Parish Youth Nuvem dominated the first session of the match but missed scoring chances through Jerose Oliveira, Niclou Colaco and Albino Pereira. Nickson Rebello and Franky Oliveira excelled for CRC Chinchinim in the midfield.
The all important goal of the match was scored in the 53rd minute by Franky Oliveira whose 30-yard power-packed shot off a pass from Merino Ferrao and beat the PY Nuvem goalkeeper Bruno Colaco. Rayson D’Souza who had good match for CRC Chinchinim was adjudged as Man-of-the-Match.
