PANJIM: Goa boys and girls team will participate in the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) U-19 National Futsal Championship, to be held in Belgaum, Karnataka from April 26-28.
The Boys team includes, Wasim Shaikh, Akohat Hadkonkar, Stendley Fernandes, Aman, Rizbon Fernandes, Russell Vaz, Rixon Fernandes, Clayton Luis, Danston and Casius Luis. The team is coached by Savio Fernandes and managed by Ramona D’Souza.
The girls team which is coached by Astrid Pereira and managed by Ramona D’Souza, includes, Somaya Mukundan, Karishma Shirvoikar, Sushmita Jadhav, Rizella Almeida, Beverly Cardozo, Flavina Rodrigues, Ashika Gadekar, Mayflower Colaco, Namita Govekar and Khushboo Saundatikar.
Both the teams are the defending champions in the category. The teams were selected by Futsal Association of Goa in accordance with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
