VASCO: A middle-aged person was found dead at his residence in New Vaddem on Wednesday.
Vasco PSI Riten Tari said 50-year-old Alfred D’Souza committed suicide by hanging himself to the hook of the ceiling fan with a nylon rope.

Police said the suicide note found at the residence mentions the reason behind the suicide is due to unbearable leg pain due to prolonged illness. Tari said Alfred was alone at his residence when his wife had gone to some relative’s place. A relative, who was supposed to take him to the hospital for medical treatment, saw Alfred’s body hanging.
Police have ruled out foul play and the body has been preserved in GMC.
