PANJIM: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) former chief Subhash Velingkar said that there is no divide in the Sangh workers in the state following two of its senior leaders remaining detached from Goa’s independent Sangh unit which was announced on Thursday. Velingkar said that whatever differences are there, they would be resolved in few days.
“If there is any rift it won’t sustain for long, Sangh is not like BJP. This is a temporary phase. There is no rift between Swayamsevaks, the differences are due to the system and that can be corrected. There is no divide in our hearts,” Velingkar said after addressing the office bearers meeting of his RSS supporters in state’s capital.
He was reacting to the statements by senior RSS leaders in the State including, Ratnakar Lele and Datta Bhikaji Naik, who had termed the decision to form Goa Prant detaching from Konkan as “unfortunate.”
“We don’t want to increase the rift in the RSS, in few days you will see the Sangh together. This is a temporary phase. Without affecting the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) agitation, we will fill the gap,” Velingkar said.
Velingkar, who was ousted on August 31 for involving in politics and later announced Goa prant on Thursday, said that he is not angry on the Sangh.
“We are not angry on the Sangh. Some people committed mistakes and it has to be repaired, that can be done,” he said.
While reacting to the Nagpur headquarters statement that new committee will be appointed soon in Goa, Velingkar said that their only aim is that nothing should affect BBSM. “Let there be 10 or 15 committees, but despite that we will see to it that public cause is not affected,” he said.
Velingkar said that he has already communicated to the central leadership on the entire issue. After being appointed as chief of Goa Prant on Thursday, Velingkar had accused union minister Manohar Parrikar and Nitin Gadkari for misreporting to RSS headquarters.
Responding to a question on RSS refusing to accept formation of Goa prant, Velingkar said “whatever has been done we accept it, provided BBSM is not affected. We will work with the same strength.”
He refused to comment on the crisis in Goa RSS stating “it is the Sangh’s internal matter, and the Sangh knows to tackle it.”
