MARGAO: Block Development Officer Amitesh Shirvoiker has fixed the disqualification proceedings against Carmona Sarpanch Savita Mascarenhas on August 9 for the sarpanch to file her reply. Disqualification proceedings against the sarpanch were initiated following a report from the panchayat secretary.
Savita had proceeded on leave in the month of March and subsequently extended her leave, which extension was not acceptable to the panchayat body and she was accordingly informed about it. However, Savita did not attend panchayat meetings presuming to be on leave.
The panchayat secretary reported the absence of the sarpanch; hence, the BDO initiated the disqualification proceedings.
