BICHOLIM: Mayem farmers on Thursday stopped ore transportation in the village, but after Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit’s assurance to resolve the issue, they later allowed the trucks to ply.
The farmers led by Sakharam Pednekar on Thursday hit the roads and stopped the ore transportation in the village.

After receiving the news, Mamalatdar Pravinjay Pandit immediately swung into action and met the aggrieved farmers.
Demanding compensation, the farmers complained that mining has destroyed their fields.
The Mamlatdar pacified the farmers and informed them that a special meeting will be held on Friday at 2 pm to resolve the issue.
