Govt likely to fill posts in Goa Police

PANJIM: The State government is likely to publish advertisement for various posts in Goa Police as Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant had recently announced releasing 10,000 posts across different government departments.

Sources told Herald that vacancies for filling up Police Sub Inspectors, Police Constables (male) for Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) besides vacancies in the wireless unit and police drivers are likely to be announced before the Code of Conduct for the municipal elections. The vacancies also include filling up of close to 300 home guards. 

While the exact number of posts has not been officially declared, sources said these have been approved by the government’s pending advertisement. 

Meanwhile, over 120 police constables and head constables posted at various police stations and units were on Saturday transferred to their new place of posting, following recommendation from the Goa Police Establishment Board.
