CANACONA: Social workers Harischandra L Naik (Vasco) and Venkatesh Metri (Galgibaga-Canacona) were presented with the Komarpant Samaj Service Award.
Sanguem MLA and INFOTEC Chairman Subhash Phaldessai and Ravindra Bhavan Margao Chairman Damu Naik felicitated Naik and Metri at ‘Kala-Utsava, Art-Festival’ organized by Kshetriya Komarpant Samaj (KKS) Goa in association with Arts & Culture Department at Shree Dattaguru Temple Hall, Nargarcem-Canacona.
Speaking on the occasion, Phaldessai stressed on the needful duty of each individual to find out way of success through hard work and each Samaj should strive as a family to bring backward members to the mainstream.
Damu Naik appealed Samaj members to know the history, culture and origin of their community. “Parents should not lag behind in facilitating education to their children to enrich their knowledge to face future challenges of their lives,” he said.
