PANJIM: Saligao United Sports Club edged out Cuncolim Union 5-3 via tie-breaker to storm into the quarter-finals of 41st HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial football tournament organized by Baina Sports Club, at MPT ground, on Saturday.
After a barren regulation time, Saligao United kept their cool in the ensuing penalty shoot-out.
Jose Alvares, Paulo Joao, Michael Dias, Trevor Dias and Govind Mahale scored for Saligao United while Krishna Shirodkar, Clifton Fernandes and Myron Fernandes converted for Cuncolim Union.
Myron Fernandes of Cuncolim Union was adjudged man-of-the-match.
