PANJIM: Emphasising on revenue generation measures, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday asked the Finance Department to take revenue generation measures, curtail wasteful expenditure and to utilise the funds lying unutilised, for various purposes so that the benefit reach common man.
Sawant held an extensive first review meeting with the Finance Department after the formation of the new government and appreciated the department for adopting various reforms.

The Finance Department managed to withdraw from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) an amount of Rs 500 crore as against Rs 60 crore withdrawn in the financial year 2019-20 at low rate of interest rate 2.75 per cent, which was availed for various health, sewerage, waste management and water supply projects.
Also the department restructured all the loans and have been brought at an interest rate of eight per cent and below of government bodies and corporations.
The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has agreed to in-principle fund Rs 1,000 crore under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund for Goa.
The department also adopted immediate liquidity through discounting system through RXIL Portal which led to clearing dues of more than Rs 500 crore.
