The Goa government has revised the wharfage for mechanised passenger vessels using government jetties for the purpose of embarkation and disembarkation of passengers.
The Department of River Navigation had proposed changes to Goa Daman and Diu Ports Rules in January this year. As no objections and suggestions were received, the department has notified the rules which also include revision of wharfage for craft using government jetties.
The rate will be applicable for use of the jetties per hour. A fee of Rs 50 will be charged for vessels/boats/craft of upto two tonnes per hour. Rs 100 per hour for vessel upto 5 tonnes; Rs 150 for upto 10 ton vessel; Rs 450 for upto 25 ton vessel; Rs 600 for upto 40 ton vessel and Rs 1000 for vessels of more than 40 tonnes per hour.
For every additional half an hour stay at the jetty, Rs 500 shall be levied in addition to the above rates, says the notification issued by Captain of Ports AP Mascarenhas.
The Captain of Ports also stated that the mechanized passenger craft would be allowed to use jetty only for the purpose of embarkation or disembarkation of passengers and not for permanent berthing at the jetty.
