Headed by President Vinay Tendulkar, controversial BJP leaders Anil Hoble and Carlos Almeida are amongst the four VPs while Sadanand Shet Tanawde, who quit as OSD to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Friday, has been appointed as the GS.
While Hoble has been in the midst of a controversy over encroachment of his bar and restaurant at Ribandar, CRZ violations and destruction of mangroves; Almeida recently hit the headlines for having allegedly stalked the family of NCP president Jose Philip D’Souza around midnight on February 15. A police complaint was lodged at Vasco police station, which was registered as non-cognizable.
Tanawde, whose sudden resignation as OSD and Joint Secretary to the CM surprised many, has been appointed as GS along with MP Advocate Narendra Sawaikar and Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik.
Tanawde had recently filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell accusing unknown person(s) of hacking his email ID and sending instructions to two government departments to accommodate favoured candidates for certain advertised posts.
Meanwhile, Sulakshana Sawant had been appointed as president of the party’s State Mahila Morcha replacing Kunda Chodankar, who is now a VP.
As he announced the new committee, Tendulkar said they will begin constituting the Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, SC/ST Morcha and Kisan Morcha besides forming ex-servicemen cell in the next month.
