MARGAO: The villagers of Davorlim and Sao Jose de Areal on Saturday raised awareness by protesting against the coal transportation and double-tracking of the railway.
The protestors walked to the panchayat and submitted a memorandum to the local body with their charter of demands. A two-wheeler Goyant Kollso Naka rally was held in the two villages, where the doubling of the tracks, have already begun.

Sao Jose De Areal Panchayat has already opposed the coal transportation and double-tracking of the railway.
Freddy Travasso said, “This is the second day of our rally and we feel that the authorities will understand our voice. We demand the government rolls back the projects.”
